YouthCARE Evaluation Capacity Building & Evaluation Plan

Client Need

YouthCARE needed to streamline and simply their evaluation processes. Past evaluations were time consuming and often disjointed. There was a significant need for a comprehensive evaluation plan as well as evaluation plans for each of their programs.

Our Solution

Staff at YouthCARE worked closely with us as we developed logic models for each of the programs that were used to design the evaluation for each program. Once evaluation designs were completed, interview and survey protocols were developed to aid staff in their work. Staff were trained on the evaluation as well as the protocols.

About YouthCARE

YouthCARE (Youth for Cultural Appreciation & Racial Equality)  is a Twin Cities based nonprofit organization with a successful thirty year history of directing leadership development, multi-cultural, and educational programs and services for urban youth, 7-18 years old.

During the summer of 2010, Kristen Cici developed a very thoughtful and accessible evaluation plan for YouthCARE to implement year after year. Kristen worked closely with our Program Directors and Development Team to create individual evaluation plans for each of our three primary youth development programs; Camp Sunrise, YouthLEAD, and the Young Women’s Mentoring Program. The individual evaluation plans meet the specific needs for each program while collecting uniform data across programs for YouthCARE to prove it is meeting its overall goals and outcomes. Kristen was easy to work with, professional and knowledgeable in evaluation techniques and on time with all of her work. After the evaluation was completed she provided the staff at YouthCARE with a thorough training on how to use the evaluation tools. Kristen’s work will be utilized at YouthCARE for many years to come.
