Before you can move forward, you need to look in the past. Spend some time gathering documents relevant to what you plan to evaluate. If you have chosen to conduct an evaluation of one of your programs, you should gather the logic model, mission statement, description, and any grant agreements where you have committed to do specific things with your program.
You’ll need to understand what the intention of the program is and how it is supposed to work so that you can design an effective evaluation. In this gathering process, you might discover that you do not have a logic model for your program. That’s ok. It’s not unheard of. Just pull together everything you have and spend some time reading through it.
